CLAY LA returns to Craft Contemporary this weekend as a three-day ceramics market that doubles as a fundraiser for the Los Angeles museum. (craftcontemporary.org) The 2026 edition runs from Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26, at Craft Contemporary, 5814 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. The event opens with a Preview Night on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by market hours on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (pbssocal.org, craftcontemporary.org) Admission changes by day. Preview Night costs $20 for the general public and $15 for members, Saturday is included with $9 museum admission, and Sunday is pay-what-you-wish. (craftcontemporary.org, craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary calls this the 9th edition of CLAY LA, its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser. The museum says the event brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles and supports its mission and programs. (craftcontemporary.org, pbssocal.org) That format makes CLAY LA part retail event and part museum benefit. Buyers can purchase functional tableware, sculptural work, and one-of-a-kind pieces directly from artists instead of through a gallery or store. (pbssocal.org) The 2026 lineup includes more than 30 makers, among them Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, Devin, Devon Taaffe Pottery, Greg Lowe Arts, Hugh Remar Los Angeles, People’s Pottery Project, Sergio Noe, Tierra del Sol, and Yunting Ceramics. (pbssocal.org, craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary has also built hands-on programming around the market. The museum lists free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekend, along with music, refreshments on Preview Night, and an opportunity drawing featuring selected works by participating artists. (craftcontemporary.org, craftcontemporary.org) PBS SoCal included CLAY LA in its arts picks for the week of April 20-26, describing the event as a chance to meet local makers in the museum’s outdoor courtyard. That placement puts the ceramics market alongside larger regional festivals and exhibitions in the station’s weekly cultural roundup. (pbssocal.org) For visitors, the pitch is straightforward: go Friday for first access, go Saturday for the full market with standard museum admission, or go Sunday when the price is flexible. In every version, CLAY LA centers the same draw — buying ceramics directly from the people who made them. (craftcontemporary.org, pbssocal.org)
