Danielle Steel Signs 20-Book Contract
Author Danielle Steel has signed a new 20-book contract with publisher Pan Macmillan. The deal underscores the continued market appetite for author-driven, long-running series, with the first books under the new agreement scheduled for late 2026.
- Danielle Steel is the bestselling living author, having sold over 800 million copies of her books worldwide. As of 2024, she has authored more than 210 books, which have been translated into 43 languages and are available in 69 countries. - The deal with Pan Macmillan continues a prolific and long-standing career for the author, who has been known to work on as many as five projects at once. Pan Macmillan is currently publishing seven new titles by Steel each year. - This is not Steel's first multi-book deal with Pan Macmillan; she signed a previous multi-book contract with the publisher in January 2022. Since joining Pan Macmillan in 2017, Steel has had over 100 top-10 appearances on bestseller lists in the UK, Australia, and South Africa. - In 2023, Pan Macmillan announced that Danielle Steel had reached the milestone of one billion copies sold globally. - Twenty-four of Steel's books have been adapted into films or miniseries. - Beyond her novels, Steel has also written non-fiction books, poetry, and a series of children's books titled "Max & Martha" and "Freddie".
