Andhra Pradesh Signs 7 MoUs on AI and Quantum Tech
The government of Andhra Pradesh, a state neighboring Telangana, has signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) focused on artificial intelligence and quantum technology. The agreements aim to accelerate R&D, talent development, and enterprise partnerships, further cementing South India's position as a global technology corridor.
- The agreements were officially signed at the India-AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. - A key partnership is with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) to build a Centre of Excellence for AI and Quantum technologies in Amaravati, which is envisioned to become a "Quantum Valley". - IBM will collaborate with the state to train 100,000 young people in quantum computing, AI, and cybersecurity, utilizing its Global Digital Learning Platform to prepare a workforce for future IT demands. - In partnership with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), the state plans to establish a dedicated Quantum AI University in Amaravati, the first of its kind in South India. - To bolster the educational ecosystem, an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras will deploy a personalized AI Tutor across government and private schools. - The MoUs aim to create a large talent pipeline, with a target of preparing 350,000 AI-Quantum learners by the end of this year and 600,000 by 2027. - Other collaborations include an agreement with Calibo AI to set up AI Academies and Sandboxes in 50 higher education institutions and a deal with a consortium including Bharat Gen to develop a state-level AI Tech Hub. - These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to embed advanced technologies into governance and public services for citizens.
