Grey Ghost Owners Opening New Ferndale Restaurant

The owners of Grey Ghost plan to open a new fast-casual restaurant in Ferndale, signaling continued investment in the city's dining scene. Details about the restaurant's name, cuisine, and location are still emerging.

Grey Ghost's owners, Four Man Ladder Hospitality, are expanding with a fast-casual restaurant in Ferndale. The group already operates Grey Ghost, Second Best, and Basan in Detroit. The new restaurant, called Little Ghost, is located at 22305 Woodward Avenue in a 1,000-square-foot brick building. It focuses on takeout and local delivery. Chef Eric Lees is heading the kitchen, with support from Grey Ghost's chefs Joe Giacomino and John Vermiglio. The menu includes a streamlined version of Grey Ghost favorites, including their popular burger, plus a Nashville chicken sandwich and an all-beef hot dog with unique toppings. Beef for the burgers is sourced from Fraser-based Fairway Packing Co. Grey Ghost, the original restaurant, opened in Detroit's Brush Park in 2016. It's named after a rum-running pirate during Prohibition. The Detroit Free Press named it the No. 2 Best New Restaurant in 2017. In 2022, Yelp ranked Grey Ghost No. 62 on its list of the top 100 restaurants in the U.S.. Ferndale has a vibrant restaurant scene with a mix of cuisines.
