Ford Mustang Supercharger Kit Hits 810 HP
Ford's new Mustang 2026 supercharger kit drastically boosts output up to 810 horsepower, bringing supercar-level power to the iconic pony car. This factory-backed upgrade underscores the growing market for OEM-supported performance modifications that maintain warranty coverage.
This new supercharger package is a collaboration between Ford Performance and Whipple Superchargers, featuring a Gen 6 3.0L twin-screw supercharger to massively increase output. The upgrade is specifically designed for the 5.0-liter "Coyote" V8 engine found in the 2024-2026 Mustang GT and Dark Horse models. The power gains are substantial, elevating the stock 486 horsepower of the Mustang GT and the 500 horsepower of the Dark Horse to a massive 810 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque (with the optional active exhaust). This kit, which includes a high-flow 92mm throttle body, upgraded fuel injectors, and a dual-pass intercooler, requires 91 or higher octane premium fuel to achieve these numbers. Priced at approximately $10,500 before installation, the supercharger kit can be installed by a Ford dealer or an ASE-certified technician to retain a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty from Ford Performance Parts. This provides a factory-backed path to supercar-level performance without voiding powertrain coverage. This upgrade places the Mustang far ahead of its traditional rivals in base V8 form. For the 2026 model year, the Chevrolet Camaro SS is expected to produce around 455-480 horsepower, while the new Dodge Charger Scat Pack will feature a twin-turbo inline-six making 550 horsepower. Ford is also expanding its own high-performance lineup. The company recently announced the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC, a factory-built model that will come with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 and is expected to produce over 700 horsepower, slotting it above the standard Dark Horse but below the ultra-exclusive 815-horsepower Mustang GTD.
