PowerBank Gets NYSERDA Approval for Solar Project

PowerBank Corporation announced it was approved for $1,965,579 USD from NYSERDA for its Jordan Rd 1 Solar Project and also received NYSDEC Brownfield Approvals.

The NYSERDA approval provides PowerBank Corporation with $1,965,579 in incentives through the NY-Sun Program for its 7 MW Jordan Rd 1 community solar project in Skaneateles Falls. The project may also be eligible for an additional $1,576,520 via the Inclusive Community Solar Adder. This initiative contributes to New York State's ambitious goal of achieving 10 GW of solar capacity by 2030. The Jordan Rd 1 Solar Project also secured environmental approvals from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to operate on brownfield land. Brownfields are defined as real property where contaminants exceed soil cleanup objectives. NYSDEC's Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) encourages private sector cleanups and redevelopment of such sites. PowerBank has been selling solar projects to fund its growth as an Independent Power Producer (IPP). In December 2025, PowerBank agreed to sell its Elmira, Jordan Road 1, and Jordan Road 2 community solar projects in New York State to Solar Advocate Development for approximately $41 million. PowerBank will act as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for these projects. Community solar projects, like Jordan Rd 1, enable residents to subscribe to a portion of the project's energy output and receive credits on their electricity bills, without needing to install panels themselves. Once operational, the Jordan Rd 1 Solar Project is expected to generate enough electricity to power around 875 homes annually. PowerBank has completed over 100 MW of projects and has a development pipeline exceeding 1 GW.
