0x Project Launches Cross-Chain API Beta

The 0x Project launched its Cross-Chain API in a private beta. The new API is designed to provide unified routing, bridging, execution, and transaction tracking across different blockchain networks. The goal is to allow developers to integrate cross-chain swaps with a single integration.

- The 0x protocol was co-founded in 2016 by Will Warren and Amir Bandeali with the vision of a world where any asset, from stocks to real estate, could be tokenized and traded on public blockchains. - Technically, 0x utilizes a hybrid architecture that combines off-chain order management with on-chain settlement, a design intended to increase efficiency and lower gas costs for users. - The new Cross-Chain API expands on 0x's existing Swap API, which aggregates liquidity from over 130 decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to find optimal pricing for trades. - Before this cross-chain initiative, 0x already provided support for numerous EVM-compatible chains including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Optimism. - The protocol is underpinned by the ZRX token, which is used for decentralized governance, allowing holders to vote on protocol upgrades, and to pay trading fees to liquidity providers known as "Relayers". - 0x's infrastructure is battle-tested and currently powers swap functionality in major applications such as Coinbase Wallet, the Matcha DEX aggregator, and Trust Wallet. - For developers, 0x provides a suite of tools that includes a Gasless API to eliminate gas fee barriers for users and a Trade Analytics API for tracking trading activity. - To aid developers using React, 0x offers resources that include an example ERC-20 swap application built with Next.js and a collection of copy-and-paste code examples.
