Open-World Arcade Sim Launches

The Coin Game leaves Early Access March 19 — an open-world arcade sim with 50+ machines on an island that's earned "Overwhelmingly Positive" Steam reviews. The announcement pulled 4.4k likes as players prep for the full launch.

The game's journey to full release has been a long one, having first launched in Steam Early Access on February 22, 2019. The entire project was created by a single developer, a one-man indie operation known as devotid Media. Upon its full launch, *The Coin Game* will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the first time. The 1.0 update is set to introduce new locations, additional vehicles, and a new "Transport Phonebooth" feature for the game's Survivor Mode. Players can choose between two distinct gameplay styles: "Birthday Mode," which offers a casual experience with unlimited money, and the more challenging "Survivor Mode." In Survivor Mode, players must manage their resources by eating, keeping their smartwatch charged, and making it home before curfew. The game's open world is not limited to a single arcade but features multiple venues including Larry's Arcade and the space-themed UFO Arcade, which contains activities like Laser Tag and Indoor Go-Karting. Players can travel around the island using a bus, golf cart, or bike to explore all the locations.
