Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine Opens in St. Petersburg
Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine has opened a new 5,000-square-foot restaurant in the EDGE District of St. Petersburg. The opening marks an expansion for the Turkish restaurant chain. This new location contributes to the continued growth of the city's culinary scene within the increasingly popular district.
- The restaurant is located at 1246 Central Avenue, on the ground floor of a newly completed 24,000-square-foot mixed-use building designed by Storyn Studio for Architecture. - This location is a key component of the first phase of the EDGE Collective, a 500,000-square-foot development project by PTM Partners and Dovehill that also includes the adjacent Moxy Hotel, which opened in August 2024. - The project involved the adaptive reuse of a nearly 100-year-old building, formerly a furniture store, which was renovated with a focus on natural lighting and an airy, permeable feel inspired by St. Petersburg's historic arcades. - Bosphorous has a significant presence in Central Florida, with established restaurants in Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, Lake Nona, and Winter Garden, in addition to a location in Tampa. - The interior design of other Bosphorous locations, such as the one in Lake Nona, features warm color palettes, one-of-a-kind Turkish ebru paintings, silk carpets, and handmade Turkish glassware. - The restaurant's menu focuses on authentic Turkish dishes, including a variety of kebabs, Pide (Turkish pastry), and a wide selection of hot and cold appetizers known as mezes, which are traditionally shared. - The second phase of the EDGE Collective development is slated to begin construction toward the end of 2025 and will add over 350 multi-family rental units to the district.
