Phemex Integrates Ondo Finance's Tokenized Assets

The cryptocurrency platform Phemex has completed the full integration of tokenized real-world assets offered by Ondo Finance. The move allows Phemex users to access tokenized securities, positioning the platform to capitalize on the growing trend of bringing traditional financial assets onto the blockchain. The integration was announced on February 21.

- The integration provides Phemex's 10 million users with access to 14 of Ondo's tokenized real-world assets. These include tokenized versions of major tech stocks like NVIDIA (NVDAon), Tesla (TSLAon), Apple (AAPLon), and Amazon (AMZNon), as well as broad market ETFs like the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPYon) and the Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQon). - Ondo Finance, founded in 2021, specializes in tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) and has received equity financing from prominent investors including Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, Pantera, and Coinbase Ventures. The firm's leadership includes former members of the Goldman Sachs Digital Assets team. - Beyond equities, Ondo Finance is a significant player in the tokenized U.S. Treasuries market, offering products like a U.S. Dollar Yield Token (USDY) and a tokenized representation of a short-term U.S. Treasury bond fund (OUSG). The OUSG token is backed by BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund. - This partnership is part of a larger trend in the tokenization of real-world assets. The on-chain RWA market, excluding stablecoins, was estimated to be around $24.8 billion as of August 2025. Projections estimate the tokenization market could reach between $15 trillion and $30 trillion by the early 2030s. - The tokenized assets from Ondo are designed to be multi-chain, with partnerships and integrations on blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon to ensure broader distribution and liquidity. Ethereum currently leads the public blockchains for tokenized RWA activity, hosting a significant market share. - For Phemex, a crypto exchange founded in 2019, this move represents a strategic expansion to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) with Web3. It allows the platform to offer products that combine the stability of traditional equities with the efficiency and liquidity of digital assets.
