Mayweather Books Kickboxing Exhibition

Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced he will first fight a kickboxer in an exhibition before his highly anticipated rematch with Manny Pacquiao set for September 19. Mayweather's continued activity at age 49, including these exhibition spectacles, keeps him in the global boxing conversation.

Before his September rematch with Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather has scheduled an exhibition in June in Athens, Greece, against 18-time world champion kickboxer Mike Zambidis. This is part of a packed 2026 schedule for the 49-year-old, which also includes a potential exhibition bout against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in April. The Pacquiao rematch is set for the Sphere in Las Vegas and will be Mayweather's first return to professional competition since his 2017 victory over Conor McGregor. Their first bout in 2015, billed as the "Fight of the Century," was a financial blockbuster, setting records with a live gate of over $72 million and generating more than 4.4 million pay-per-view buys. That initial fight, which Mayweather won by unanimous decision, generated total revenues estimated to be over $500 million. The rematch comes more than 11 years after their first meeting, with Mayweather at age 49 and Pacquiao at 47. Since officially retiring with a 50-0 professional record, Mayweather has participated in numerous exhibition matches. His opponents have ranged from undefeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa and his former sparring partner Don Moore to internet personalities like Logan Paul and Deji Olatunji.
