Solange in Nike Jacquemus Campaign

Solange Knowles stars in the latest Nike + Jacquemus Moon Shoe campaign, highlighting three new colorways — brown, Sail, and pink — of the coveted collaboration. The campaign showcases the intersection of high fashion and streetwear, while spring trends emphasize sustainability and tech-infused apparel.

The collaboration between Nike and French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus first launched in June 2022, beginning with a reinterpretation of the Air Humara trail running shoe. The partnership has since produced other sought-after models, including the J Force 1 and the Air Max 1, before turning to the historic Moon Shoe. This collaboration marks the first-ever reinterpretation of Nike's fabled "Moon Shoe." The original was a hand-cobbled prototype designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman for runners at the 1972 Olympic Trials; only about a dozen were made. A pair of these originals later sold at a Sotheby's auction for nearly $450,000. Bowerman famously created the shoe's innovative waffle-patterned sole by pouring rubber into his wife's waffle iron. The unique imprint it left in the dirt resembled astronauts' footprints on the moon, giving the shoe its nickname. While the prototype was never commercially released, its design DNA led directly to the Waffle Trainer, Nike's first major success. Simon Porte Jacquemus, who founded his brand in 2009, is known for a minimalist and playful aesthetic inspired by his upbringing in the South of France. For this shoe, he blended the original's racing silhouette with a modern ballet-inspired look, featuring a ruched nylon upper. This release is the second chapter for the Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe. The first collection debuted in 2025 with Off Noir, University Red, and Alabaster colorways. The new pink colorway is rooted in the Jacquemus brand's DNA, intended to bring softness and intimacy to the silhouette. Solange Knowles has a long history in fashion and creative direction beyond music. In 2013, she served as an art director and creative consultant for Puma, curating several sneaker collections. She has also been the face of campaigns for Calvin Klein and Helmut Lang and founded the creative agency Saint Heron.
