Frieze New York will return to The Shed on May 13–17, 2026, with more than 65 galleries and a Focus section for younger dealers. (frieze.com) Frieze said the 2026 edition is its 15th in New York and will bring together galleries including Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Pace, Perrotin, White Cube and David Zwirner. (frieze.com) The fair shifted its May timing closer to midmonth to avoid overlapping with the professional days and opening of the 2026 Venice Biennale, according to ARTnews. (artnews.com) The preview centers on a split screen that has become standard for major fairs: blue-chip galleries in the main section and smaller, younger galleries in curated sections. Frieze said Focus will again be led by curator Lumi Tan. (frieze.com) Frieze describes Focus as a section for solo presentations by galleries operating for 12 years or less. Artsy reported that 11 galleries were selected for 2026, and more than half are first-time Frieze participants. (frieze.com) (artsy.net) Those first-timers include Campeche, Europa, Isla Flotante, Sargent’s Daughters, Soft Opening, Ulrik and W-galería, while Central, Champ Lacombe, Gordon Robichaux and Public return to the section. (artsy.net) Frieze also said the 2026 fair will carry a stronger Latin American presence, with exhibitors including Almeida & Dale, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, Mitre Galeria, OMR, Vermelho and W-galería. (frieze.com 1) (frieze.com 2) Outside the booths, Frieze announced April 2 that this year’s program will extend into Chelsea through collaborations with the Whitney Museum of American Art, Dia Art Foundation and Counterpublic. The program includes projects by Jonathan González, Kite and David Lamelas. (frieze.com) The Shed’s event page says visitors will see work ranging from emerging artists to established names, with early-bird ticket access released first to Shed members before general sales. (theshed.org) For Frieze, the early message is straightforward: the fair is selling certainty at the top end and discovery in the curated sections, using the same Hudson Yards venue and a familiar May slot to keep New York on the spring art-fair calendar.
