Singapore's Nanyang Polytechnic Partners on IIoT
Technology solutions provider ThinkPalm Technologies has announced a strategic collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) in Singapore. The partnership aims to drive innovation in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and promote digital sustainability.
- The first phase of the partnership involves deploying ThinkPalm's IIoT system at Nanyang Polytechnic's Green Data Centre. This will serve as a real-world model to demonstrate how IIoT can optimize energy consumption and reduce the carbon footprint of data centers. - Nanyang Polytechnic is home to the Centre of Innovation for Electronics & Internet of Things (COI-EIoT), which it jointly established with Enterprise Singapore in 2008 to co-create end-to-end solutions with industries using technologies like IoT and AI. - The technology at the core of this collaboration is ThinkPalm's cloud-native IIoT platform, NetvirE, which is designed to drive digital transformation across various industries, including energy, manufacturing, and logistics. - This collaboration aligns with Singapore's national goals, such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which aims for a whole-of-nation movement to advance sustainable development. - The Singapore Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market was valued at over USD 2.9 billion in 2020 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 14.08% through 2032. This growth is partly driven by government initiatives like the Smart Nation program. - A key component of the partnership is talent development, with plans for internship programs to give students hands-on experience with IIoT technologies, guided by ThinkPalm's engineering experts. - Future phases may see the IIoT deployment expand to NYP's School of Engineering classrooms and specialized labs, as well as joint projects with government and other industry players.
