Dubai Taxi Company said on May 13 it had signed a sales and purchase agreement to acquire 100% of National Taxi LLC for an enterprise value of AED1.45 billion, or about $395 million, in its first acquisition since its initial public offering. The company said the deal would be funded through new bank debt facilities, with no equity issuance and no dilution to existing shareholders. National Taxi operates about 2,500 licensed plates and a fleet of more than 2,700 vehicles across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, according to Dubai Taxi and state news agency WAM. Dubai Taxi said the combined pro forma fleet of the two companies would exceed 14,000 vehicles as of May 2026 and serve an estimated 78 million annual trips across the United Arab Emirates. (dubaitaxi.ae) The transaction gives Dubai Taxi a larger position in its home market and an immediate foothold in Abu Dhabi. Dubai Taxi said its market share in Dubai was expected to rise by about 12%, while it would gain about 12% market share in Abu Dhabi through the acquisition. The company described National Taxi as a multi-city operator with a regulated supply of taxi plates in both emirates. (dubaitaxi.ae) Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, chief executive of Dubai Taxi Company, said in the company statement that National Taxi was a “high-quality, multi-city operator” and that the purchase would expand the company’s presence across the UAE. Dubai Taxi said National Taxi generated net revenue of AED774 million, EBITDA of AED183 million and net profit of AED101 million for the year ended July 31, 2025. (dubaitaxi.ae) April 2026 had already brought another fleet expansion for Dubai Taxi. The company said last month it had acquired 600 new taxi plates, which would raise its taxi fleet from 6,217 to 6,817 vehicles, with phased introduction of those vehicles starting in July 2026. Dubai Taxi said that move would lift its Dubai market share to 47%. (dubaitaxi.ae) Dubai Taxi’s investor materials describe the company as operating more than 9,400 vehicles, including more than 6,000 taxis, before the National Taxi transaction. A 2024 company statement said Dubai Taxi’s fleet had reached 6,210 vehicles after it bought 250 new license plates in a Roads and Transport Authority auction. National Taxi and Dubai Taxi had already linked up operationally before the takeover announcement. (feeds.dfm.ae) Dubai Taxi said in April that 1,823 National Taxi vehicles would be integrated into the Bolt platform under an agreement signed by Alfalasi and National Taxi Managing Director Toufic Mitri. The acquisition is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre. (dubaitaxi.ae) Dubai Taxi said the final consideration would be adjusted under the terms of the sales and purchase agreement. (dubaitaxi.ae) (dubaitaxi.ae)
