New Cars, Events in Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo 7's Update 1.68 adds the '91 Mazda RX-7 Type R, Chevrolet Camaro Race Mod, Renault Captur, and four new race events.
The '91 Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD) marks a major evolution for Mazda's rotary sports car, dropping the "Savanna" name and focusing on lightweight construction and performance. The FD3S RX-7 debuted in December 1991 with a wider body to accommodate larger tires, but used aluminum to keep its weight close to 1,260 kg. It featured an updated 13B rotary engine with a sequential twin-turbo system, boosting output to 251.5 bhp and 30.0 kgfm of torque. The Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Race-Mod is a modern restomod of the classic Trans-Am hero Camaro Z28, originally introduced in 1966 to compete with the Ford Mustang. This "Gran Turismo Original" preserves the spirit of classic Trans-Am racing with a low, aggressive stance, while incorporating contemporary restomod elements. Chrome trim is replaced with carbon-black, and a supercharged V8 now produces 657.8 bhp. The Renault Captur S Edition TCe 140 is a compact crossover SUV first introduced in 2013, known for its urban-friendly design and versatility. The second-generation model, launched in 2019, features improved driving dynamics and Renault's signature C-shaped lighting. Its inclusion broadens the game's vehicle diversity with a car designed for everyday driving. Update 1.68 also adds four new events to the World Circuits mode. These include the European Sunday Cup 400, Japanese Clubman Cup 550, American Clubman Cup 700, and World Touring Car 800, offering new challenges across different tracks and car classes.
