Thunder Complete Perfect Road Trip
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander powered the Thunder past the Knicks to wrap up a perfect 3-0 road trip. SGA's consistent scoring continues to drive OKC's push for better playoff seeding in the competitive Western Conference.
The successful road trip began with a 100-87 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. In that game, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points, while Chet Holmgren contributed 19 points and nine rebounds. This win marked a historic moment for Gilgeous-Alexander, who has now scored at least 20 points in 59 consecutive road games, the longest such streak in NBA history. Even without their MVP candidate, the Thunder secured a 116-108 win against the Chicago Bulls. Gilgeous-Alexander was held out to manage an abdominal strain that had sidelined him for much of the previous month. A balanced scoring attack led by Jared McCain's 20 points, and double-doubles from Jaylin Williams (17 points, 16 rebounds) and Chet Holmgren (12 points, 11 rebounds) propelled Oklahoma City to victory. The trip concluded with a tight 103-100 win over the New York Knicks. While Gilgeous-Alexander put up 26 points, it was Chet Holmgren who led the team with 28 points, including a career-high-tying six 3-pointers. Lu Dort also added 16 points in the victory that snapped New York's three-game winning streak. This perfect 3-0 road swing improved the Thunder's overall record to 48-15, solidifying their position at the top of the Western Conference standings. The wins extended their lead over the second-place San Antonio Spurs, showcasing the team's depth and ability to win with and without their top player.
