Bloomberg Launches Weekend Business Show
Bloomberg has launched a new multi-platform weekend show for business professionals. The program, "Bloomberg This Weekend," debuted on March 1st and offers analysis of the week's market events on Saturdays and expert forecasts for the week ahead on Sundays.
The new weekend program is anchored by a team of seasoned journalists. Co-hosts David Gura and Christina Ruffini lead the show from New York, with Lisa Mateo providing updates on the latest headlines. Gura is a Bloomberg TV and radio veteran and co-host of the "Big Take" podcast, while Ruffini is an Emmy-award-winning foreign affairs journalist who previously worked for NBC, MSNBC, and CBS News. "Bloomberg This Weekend" is a three-hour broadcast airing at 7:00 a.m. ET on both Saturdays and Sundays. The show is simulcast across a wide range of platforms, including Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, Bloomberg.com, and the Bloomberg Business app, making it accessible globally. This move expands Bloomberg's live news coverage to seven days a week. The program's content extends beyond pure financial market analysis to include discussions on politics, lifestyle, and culture with business leaders, lawmakers, and cultural figures. The debut episode on February 28th, 2026, for example, featured discussions on the latest Berkshire Hathaway earnings report and geopolitical analysis of conflicts around the world. This launch is a key part of Bloomberg's strategy to increase its subscriber base and enhance cross-platform engagement. The show is overseen by executive producer Carolyn Cremen, who previously led the "CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell" and spent 15 years at CNN. The program will also feature content from other Bloomberg franchises like "Odd Lots," "Bloomberg Surveillance," and "CityLab."
