New student housing breaks ground in SLC

CRG and Cole West broke ground on “Chapter Salt Lake City,” a 693-bed student housing project near the University of Utah announced.

The project, called "Chapter Salt Lake City", will provide 693 beds in 251 units. The six-story building will be located at 410 S. 900 East, near the TRAX 900 East & 400 South light rail station, offering convenient access to the University of Utah. CRG's Executive Vice President, J.J. Smith, noted the University of Utah's impressive enrollment growth over the past six years, which has increased by over 20% to more than 38,000 students. He also drew parallels between the University of Utah and the University of Colorado, highlighting the appeal of combining academics with an outdoor lifestyle. The community will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, and four-bedroom fully furnished residences. Shared amenities include a fitness center, sauna, ski simulator, library, rooftop lounge, and rooftop pool. Cole West also has plans to redevelop Provo's abandoned Park Plaza apartments into student housing for Brigham Young University students.
