Rock Hall 2026 Nominees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2026 nominees including Phil Collins, Lauryn Hill, INXS, Sade, Shakira, and Wu-Tang Clan. The Black Crowes discussed their excitement and floated the idea of a joint performance with Oasis if inducted.

- To be eligible for nomination, an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of induction. For the 2026 class, this means their first commercial release must have been in 2001 or earlier. - Ten of the 17 nominees are on the ballot for the first time: Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P!NK, Shakira, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan. - Phil Collins is the only nominee who could become a two-time inductee, as he was already inducted in 2010 as a member of the band Genesis. This nomination recognizes his solo career which began in 1981 with the album *Face Value*. - Sade has been nominated for the second time, with a previous nomination in 2024. Mariah Carey is on the ballot for the third time, while this is the second nomination for The Black Crowes and Billy Idol. - Lauryn Hill's nomination comes for her influential solo work, primarily her 1998 debut album, *The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill*, which was the first hip-hop album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year. - Shakira's eligibility comes from her early Spanish-language albums released in Colombia, with her debut album *Magia* released in 1991. - The inductees will be determined by a voting body of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals, combined with the results of an online fan vote which counts as a single ballot. - The final list of 2026 inductees is scheduled to be announced in April 2026, with the induction ceremony taking place in the fall.
