Jill Scott's Cinematic "Pressha"

Jill Scott released the cinematic video for her song "Pressha." The new visual adds depth to her soulful single, highlighting Scott's storytelling prowess and reaffirming her status as a powerhouse in the R&B genre.

"Pressha" is the second single from Jill Scott's sixth studio album, "To Whom This May Concern," which was released on February 13, 2026. The album marks her first full-length project in over a decade, following 2015's "Woman". The 19-track album features a range of collaborators, including rappers J.I.D., Ab-Soul, Tierra Whack, and Too $hort. Production was handled by notable names such as DJ Premier, Adam Blackstone, and longtime collaborator Andre Harris. Lyrically, "Pressha" delves into the themes of societal pressure to conform and the pain of being desired in private but not acknowledged publicly. Scott sings, "I wasn't the aesthetic/I guess, I guess, I get it," addressing the weight of expectations in relationships. The moody and elegant music video features cameos from actors Niecy Nash, Tasha Smith, and Tyler Lepley, enhancing the song's narrative of secret affection. The single has proven to be a successful comeback for the neo-soul legend, reaching the No. 1 spot on R&B radio. Scott's return to music follows a ten-year hiatus where she focused on raising her son and traveling. She stated in an interview that she needed to live more in order to have new stories to tell through her music. Prior to the new album, Scott remained active by touring to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her platinum-selling debut album, "Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1".
