Four Hospitalized After Boston Truck Crash

A truck veered off a street in Boston, resulting in four people being hospitalized. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by local police, and the extent of the victims' injuries has not been disclosed.

The crash occurred in Boston's Chinatown at the intersection of Kneeland Street and Harrison Avenue when a box truck struck multiple pedestrians before crashing into a building. In total, six people were injured, with four of them requiring hospitalization. At least one of the hospitalized victims was reported to be in critical condition. The driver of the truck also sustained injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Boston Fire Department. Two other individuals were treated for injuries at the scene but did not require hospitalization. The vehicle involved was a Penske box truck that had been rented to a commercial trucking company. Surveillance footage captured the truck traveling at a high speed moments before it struck multiple poles and became wedged between a pole and the Great Wall Kitchen Supplies store. Authorities have stated that a preliminary investigation suggests the incident was a "tragic accident" and not an intentional act. Law enforcement officials are looking into the possibility that the driver experienced a medical episode prior to the crash. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu commented on how shocking the scene was in such a busy part of the city during the middle of the day.
