Humand Secures $66M to Build AI for Deskless Workers

Humand has raised a $66 million Series A to develop an "AI operating system" for the world's 2.7 billion deskless workers. The funding reflects continued venture capital interest in agentic platforms designed to automate industry-specific operational workflows at a large scale.

- The Series A round was co-led by Kaszek and Goodwater Capital, with participation from Y Combinator and a notable group of angel investors, including the founders of Dropbox, Vercel, and Lyft. - Humand was founded by Nicolas Benenzon (CEO) and GerĂ³nimo Maspero (CTO), who met at the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology and were rejected by Y Combinator twice before being accepted and raising an initial $2.5 million. - The company targets the 80% of the global workforce that is "deskless," a segment historically underserved by enterprise software, leading to issues like high turnover and operational inefficiency in industries like retail, manufacturing, and healthcare. - Humand's platform functions as a mobile-first, AI-native operating system where employees can manage tasks like requesting time off, accessing benefits, and completing training through a single application. - The platform uses AI agents to automate workflows and provide instant answers to employee questions, reducing the workload on HR departments. The new funding is intended to expand these AI capabilities for more complex tasks. - Prior to the Series A, the platform was already in use by over 1.6 million workers across more than 1,500 companies, including Domino's, MINISO, and OXXO. - The company itself has over 420 employees spread across more than 20 countries and utilizes its own platform for its internal operations. - Humand aims to be the "system of action" that sits on top of existing HR software, using AI to turn static employee data into dynamic, automated workflows for frontline workers.
