Emergent Hits $100M ARR in Eight Months

Bangalore-based "vibe coding" platform Emergent claims to have crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue just eight months after its launch. The company attributes its rapid growth to strong demand from small businesses and non-technical users for its automation tools. Emergent also recently launched a mobile application to expand its platform's accessibility.

- The company was founded by Indian-origin twin brothers, CEO Mukund Jha, who previously co-founded the Indian delivery startup Dunzo, and CTO Madhav Jha, a founding member of the Amazon Sagemaker research team. - Emergent reached its $100M ARR milestone after a rapid growth sequence, previously hitting $15 million in ARR within 90 days of its 2025 launch and $50 million ARR by its seventh month. - The startup has raised a total of $100 million, culminating in a January 2026 $70 million Series B round led by Khosla Ventures and SoftBank Vision Fund 2 at a $300 million valuation. - "Vibe coding" is a term coined by OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy in February 2025 to describe using natural language prompts to have an AI generate code, with the developer guiding the results rather than writing the code manually. - Emergent's platform is built on a proprietary multi-agent architecture, where specialized AI agents function like a product team to handle everything from UI design to backend logic and deployment. - The company's freemium model has attracted over 5 million users and 50,000 active developers, achieving a 25% conversion rate from free to paid plans as users scale their projects from prototypes to production applications. - The company operates in a competitive and highly-funded space, with rivals including Replit, which reportedly secured a $9 billion valuation, and Cursor, which raised funds at a $29.3 billion valuation. - In addition to venture capital, Emergent has received a strategic investment from Google's AI Futures Fund and is partnering with Google to use Gemini models for backend-heavy workloads.
