Rock Hall of Fame 2026 Nominees

The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees include Lauryn Hill, Shakira, and Wu-Tang Clan among a diverse shortlist featuring heavy metal pioneers, a 1990s pop diva, and a legendary R&B singer and producer. INXS fans are rallying votes for their nomination after years of petitioning, garnering 369 likes on social media.

- Ten of the 17 total nominees are on the ballot for the first time, including Phil Collins, P!nk, Melissa Etheridge, and the late R&B singer Luther Vandross. - To be eligible for nomination, an artist's first commercial recording must have been released at least 25 years ago. Of this year's nominees, only Shakira's first recording was released in 1991, making her the most recently eligible candidate. - Several nominees are returning to the ballot after not being selected in previous years; this is the third nomination for Iron Maiden, Oasis, and Mariah Carey. The Black Crowes and Billy Idol are each on the ballot for the second consecutive year. - Inductees are selected by a voting body of more than 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals. The results of a public fan vote are also tallied to create a single additional ballot. - Phil Collins is the only nominee on this year's ballot who could become a two-time inductee; he was previously inducted in 2010 as a member of the band Genesis. - In addition to Luther Vandross, who passed away in 2005, singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley is also nominated posthumously. Buckley died in 1997, and his 1994 album "Grace" is widely acclaimed. - The final list of 2026 inductees is scheduled to be announced in April 2026. The induction ceremony is set to take place in the fall, though a specific date and location have not yet been announced.
