Delta's A350 cabin refresh

Delta announced upgrades to its A350‑1000 cabins that include longer Delta One suites (about 3+ inches longer), 24‑inch seatback screens, power outlets at every seat and a new refreshment station—Delta is currently the only U.S. carrier flying the A350 family. (X/Delta ). The airline says A330 updates will follow, signaling a broader premium‑cabin refresh across its long‑haul fleet. (X/Delta ).

Delta is redesigning its top long-haul cabins, starting with new Airbus A350-1000 jets due in early 2027 and refreshed Airbus A330s after that. (news.delta.com) Delta said on April 13 that the new A350-1000 will debut its next-generation Delta One suite after a two-year design process and a decade of customer and employee feedback. The airline also said the A330-200 and A330-300 fleets will get Delta One suites with privacy doors for the first time. (news.delta.com) Across both fleets, Delta said every seat will get its largest seatback screens yet, plus Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C ports, universal alternating current power outlets, and memory-foam cushions. Delta’s A350 media kit says the A350-1000s will also have fast, free in-flight Wi‑Fi. (news.delta.com 1) (news.delta.com 2) The aircraft matter because Delta’s A350-1000 is a larger long-haul jet with a heavier premium mix: the airline says the cabin will be 50% premium seating. Delta says those planes begin arriving in early 2027. (news.delta.com 1) (news.delta.com 2) The refresh is also bigger than one airplane type. Delta said the A350-1000 and A330 work are part of more than $1 billion in cabin upgrades, and the carrier expects its newer interior design to reach more than 800 aircraft over the next five years. (news.delta.com) Delta is leaning on Airbus for that long-haul plan. Airbus said Delta placed its first order for 20 A350-1000s on January 12, 2024, and Delta said in January 2026 that its A350 fleet will reach 79 aircraft, including those 20 A350-1000s. (airbus.com) (news.delta.com) Delta remains the only United States airline operating the Airbus A350 family today. Delta’s fleet page lists 41 A350-900s in service, while the A350-1000 is still listed as an upcoming type. (news.delta.com) (simpleflying.com) This is also the next step in a broader interior reset Delta started rolling out in 2024 and 2025, with new lighting, materials, and branding across cabins. Delta said customer satisfaction scores rose 25 points after the new onboard look began entering service. (news.delta.com 1) (news.delta.com 2) For travelers, the near-term takeaway is simple: the first all-new experience arrives on the A350-1000 in early 2027, and the older A330-200 and A330-300 jets are next in line for a full nose-to-tail update.
