Gen.G's Ruler Ties Pentakill Record
Gen.G's Ruler notched a pentakill in the LCK Cup finals, tying for first all-time with 12 career pentakills alongside HolyPhoenix, Peyz, and Gala. The achievement came during a crucial match as the League of Legends competitive scene heats up. Ruler's consistency in clutch moments continues to cement his legacy as one of the game's elite ADC players.
Ruler's record-tying pentakill came in the decisive third and final game of the LCK Cup finals against a surging BNK FEARX, sealing a dominant 3-0 series victory for Gen.G. Throughout the tournament, Gen.G showcased their prowess, losing only two games in their entire run. The finals MVP honor, however, went to Gen.G's jungler, Canyon, who demonstrated formidable form throughout the series. The achievement places Ruler in elite company alongside Turkish ADC Anıl "HolyPhoenix" Işık, a veteran of the sport with a career spanning over 13 years, primarily in his home region. HolyPhoenix is a celebrated figure in the Turkish league, known for his aggressive playstyle and multiple domestic titles. Also at the top of the leaderboard is Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, a young prodigy who has rapidly accumulated his pentakills. Peyz, who just turned 20, has been a professional for only three years and holds the record for being the youngest bot laner to win an LCK title at 17 years old. His memorable MSI 2024 finals pentakill was on Kalista. The fourth player sharing the record is Chen "GALA" Wei, renowned for his skill on Kai'Sa, the champion responsible for nearly half of his pentakills. GALA is also noted for being one of only two players, alongside the legendary Uzi, to score multiple pentakills with the same champion in the LPL.
