Metaplex Agent Tokens
Metaplex rolled out Agent Tokens on Solana, enabling AI agents to mint their own tokens with on‑chain identity, bonding curves and Raydium graduation integrations. Several projects including Nuero, NoahAI, Xona and Molt.id were listed as early integrations, and APRO Oracle reported 99k+ agent calls across 40+ chains in its weekly update. (x.com) (x.com)
Metaplex has started letting artificial intelligence agents launch their own tokens on Solana through a new feature called Agent Tokens. (metaplex.com) An agent in Metaplex is an on-chain identity that can be registered, read and run on Solana, and the token can now be linked directly to that identity. Metaplex says each agent identity can have only one token, and that link can be set only once. (metaplex.com ) (metaplex.com) The token launch uses a bonding curve, which is a pricing formula that moves the price up as more Solana flows in and down as tokens are sold back. Metaplex says the launch then “graduates” into a Raydium constant product market maker pool after the token supply sells out. (metaplex.com) (raydium.io) That setup ties two crypto trends together in April 2026: token launchpads and autonomous software agents. Metaplex’s agent registry already lets developers create and register agents, and Agent Tokens adds a way for those agents to issue and manage a native asset from an on-chain wallet. (metaplex.com 1) (metaplex.com 2) Metaplex’s documentation was updated on April 8 and April 9, 2026, with new pages for the Genesis bonding curve and the command-line flow for linking an agent token. The company’s launch site also showed a Season 1 campaign with $50,000 in MPLX rewards tied to Genesis and Agent Token activity. (metaplex.com 1) (metaplex.com 2) (metaplex.com 3) Early examples on Metaplex’s agents page show how the model is being pitched: software characters or services that can chat, create content and operate a token economy tied to a registered identity. One listed project, IdollyAI, is described there as using the Metaplex 014 Agent Registry with bonding-curve tokenomics on Solana. (metaplex.com) Outside Metaplex, the pitch is landing in a market already chasing “agent” infrastructure across chains. APRO coverage on Binance Square and Gate describes the oracle network as live on more than 40 chains and processing weekly artificial intelligence oracle calls in the high tens of thousands to low millions, though APRO’s own post referenced in the original announcement was not directly accessible through web search. (binance.com) (gate.com) The immediate test is whether registered agents become repeat token issuers or whether Agent Tokens stay a launch-week feature for speculation and rewards farming. Metaplex has already wired the product into its live launch stack, so that answer will show up on-chain. (metaplex.com 1) (metaplex.com 2)
