Atreyu Announces Heaviest Album Yet
Alt-metal band Atreyu announced their 10th album "The End Is Not The End" due April 24, calling it their "heaviest, most metal record" to date. The lead single "All for You" just dropped, marking both a return to their roots and continued evolution.
The upcoming album marks a significant chapter for Atreyu following a major lineup change in 2020. That year, founding vocalist Alex Varkatzas departed, leading to drummer Brandon Saller stepping up as the full-time frontman. Bassist Marc "Porter" McKnight took over all unclean vocals, and Kyle Rosa joined as the new drummer, solidifying the band's current five-piece configuration. *The End Is Not The End* is Atreyu's tenth studio album and was crafted in distinct, contrasting environments. The band held creative retreats in Tokyo, Japan, and on the remote San Juan Island in Washington. This geographical and cultural dichotomy is said to have heavily influenced the album's diverse and dynamic sound. Behind the boards for this new record is producer Matt Pauling, known for his work with bands like Good Charlotte and Fever 333. This collaboration aims to capture the aggressive energy the band was seeking, with frontman Brandon Saller describing the album as both their "heaviest" and "most metal" work to date, while also being a significant "musical journey." The album will also feature a guest appearance from a metal legend. Max Cavalera, of Soulfly and Sepultura fame, lends his vocals to the track "Children Of Light," further hinting at the record's heavy direction. This new album follows their 2023 release, *The Beautiful Dark of Life*, which was a compilation of three EPs and showcased a more experimental and alternative metal sound. The upcoming record's focus on a heavier style marks a deliberate return to the band's metalcore origins. Atreyu will be supporting the album with a tour kicking off in April. The band has announced a series of dates across the United States, sharing the stage with bands such as Sevendust and Fire From The Gods on select dates.
