Microsoft Copilot Training Embedded in Office
New Horizons, an Educate 360 brand, will embed Microsoft Copilot training into all of its Microsoft Office courses, including Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The initiative is designed to accelerate the adoption of AI tools in the workplace by integrating the training directly into existing software education.
- Microsoft made Copilot for Microsoft 365 generally available in January 2024, removing the previous 300-seat minimum, which opened access to businesses of all sizes for a price of $30 per user per month with an annual commitment. - The push for integrated AI training comes as workplace adoption has surged; 75% of global knowledge workers now use AI, with generative AI usage nearly doubling in the last six months of 2024. - The new embedded training modules will cover specific skills such as prompt guidance using a "Role, Goal, Context, Constraints" framework and responsible AI usage, including the validation of accuracy and tone. - This initiative aims to address a significant AI skills gap, as many organizations report struggling to find talent to manage AI solutions. Meanwhile, workers with AI skills commanded an average wage premium of 56% in 2024 according to a PwC analysis. - Tynan Fischer, SVP of Learning Operations at Educate 360, stated the goal is to make AI "practical and approachable" by integrating instruction directly into the productivity applications employees already use. - The provider, Educate 360, has been a Microsoft training partner for over 25 years and holds all six Microsoft training designations, qualifying it as a Microsoft Cloud Training Partner. - The strategy of embedding training directly into software courses is designed to reduce reliance on standalone AI workshops and reinforce usage at the moment the work is happening.
