Melbourne Flower Show Tickets Available
Tickets are now on sale for the annual Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show running March 25–29, 2026, featuring the latest in horticultural design, landscaping innovation, and floral artistry. The premier global event serves as a destination for garden planning inspiration and cutting-edge trends. The show timing aligns with Southern Hemisphere autumn and Northern Hemisphere spring garden planning seasons.
The 2025 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show saw a record-breaking attendance, with over 115,000 visitors, making it the most attended in more than two decades. The event showcased installations from more than 1,850 businesses and featured over 150,000 plants on display. A significant focus of the 2025 show was the connection between green spaces and wellbeing, with mental health and wellness being prominent themes. This "dirt therapy" concept was woven throughout the event in the form of tranquil sensory gardens and meditative installations. New and popular additions in 2025 included the "Bloom Room," an immersive space with interactive floral installations, and "Floral Fridays," which encouraged visitors to wear flowers. These fresh activations proved to be a hit across all age groups. The prestigious City of Melbourne Award of Excellence for Best in Show in 2025 was awarded to Rob Cooper of Distinctive Gardens for his modern garden titled 'ə'skāp'. The show gardens in 2025 had a combined retail value of over $2 million. The event is held at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic venue was originally constructed for the great international exhibitions of 1880 and 1888. It is the first built heritage site in Australia to be added to the World Heritage List. The show, which began in 1995, is the largest horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere. It serves as a platform for both established and emerging designers, with a competition for "Border Gardens" specifically aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent. Sustainability is a key focus, with initiatives to minimize environmental impact. The show discourages the use of floral foam and has transitioned to digital maps to reduce paper waste. In 2025, over 600 cubic metres of organic waste were diverted from landfill through a partnership with Bio-Gro. For those wanting an after-dark experience, the "Gardens by Twilight" hours on Friday and Saturday allow visitors to see the floral displays and gardens illuminated at night.
