IIMA Opens AI School

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad inaugurated a dedicated AI school aimed at driving research, talent development and industry partnerships in decision‑making and management. IIMA held a ribbon‑cutting inauguration of the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence on March 26, 2026, with Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon leading the ceremony alongside Pankaj Patel, Professor Bharat Bhasker and Ramesh Mangaleswaran. (iima.ac.in) The School is funded by a ₹100 crore endowment from Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon and her husband Ranjan Tandon, formalised in an MoU exchanged on January 29, 2026. (iima.ac.in) The MoU signing took place in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi and with Ambassador Vinay Kwatra participating virtually from the USA. (iima.ac.in) On launch, the School released an initial research report titled “Navigating the Future Trap with AI Value Compass,” produced with Persistent Systems and based on analysis of roughly 100 enterprises that highlights gaps in AI leadership, vision, metrics and governance.
