UK InsurTech Loxa raises £2.7M
Loxa closed a £2.7 million seed round to expand its retail insurance platform across Europe, deepen retail partnerships, and broaden product protection — a signal that investor appetite for modular InsurTech remains alive. The raise highlights continued funding for distribution‑focused platforms even as buyer expectations evolve. (beinsure.com)
The seed financing was executed in three tranches and was backed mainly by angel investors and family offices, with the Lazaroo‑Hood Group named among backers and introductions facilitated by Angel Investment Network, FundMyPitch and the Entrepreneur’s Collective. Since launching in 2023 Loxa reports more than 45 live retail integrations across furniture, eyewear, power tools, electronics and catering equipment, citing partners such as eCatering, Toolden, Hyundai Tools, Rowen Homes, Maker & Son and JCB Pro Tools. The company has set explicit commercial targets for the new capital: scaling its retail network to 150+ live partners and broadening the platform to support “every insurable product category” as it moves toward EU expansion. Loxa highlights customer outcomes from live pilots, reporting Maker & Son cut returns by 80% after embedding Loxa’s protection and Rowen Homes achieved a 20%+ attach rate post‑integration, figures the firm uses to benchmark retail impact. The platform claims sub‑48‑hour retailer onboarding, multiple integration options including a Shopify app and flexible API, and an end‑to‑end managed claims and policy administration service intended to handle policy volumes at scale (loxacover.com/). Loxa trades as Loxa Ltd, incorporated in England and Wales (company number 14654818) and is authorised as an insurance intermediary by the FCA under firm reference number 1018666 (loxacover.com/). Co‑founder and CEO Jamie Hamer is listed on Loxa’s leadership page and previously co‑founded and exited React News; earlier funding activity for Loxa includes a 2025 seed raise reported at approximately €1.9m as the business built its initial UK retail footprint.
