Porsche 911 Turbo S Goes Hybrid

The 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S boasts over 700 hp, hits 0-60 in ~2 seconds, and is 14 seconds faster around the Nürburgring [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBwQQQhnKRU]—it's also Porsche's first hybrid 911.

The hybrid powertrain pairs a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine with an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed PDK transmission. This setup delivers a combined output of 701 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor significantly enhances throttle response and provides seamless torque fill. The "T-Hybrid" system includes electric turbos that spool up almost instantly, eliminating lag and recovering energy. A 1.9 kWh battery powers the electric motor and contributes to the car's improved responsiveness. This is not a plug-in hybrid; the system is self-charging, using exhaust heat recuperation. The 911 Turbo S lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:03.92, a 14-second improvement over the previous model. Porsche factory driver Jörg Bergmeister piloted the car, noting increased agility and grip. Despite the hybrid components, the weight increase is only 85 kg, which is offset by the enhanced driving dynamics. Active aerodynamics, including a dynamic rear spoiler and adaptive front intakes, optimize downforce and cooling. The car also features wider tires and larger rear brakes. The standard carbon-ceramic brakes provide exceptional stopping power. The hybrid 911 Turbo S achieves 0-60 mph in 2.0 seconds. The top speed is 200 mph. The base price is $272,650.
