Karol G closed Coachella’s first weekend on April 12 with the festival’s first-ever headlining set by a Latina artist. (hollywoodreporter.com) She headlined Sunday night at the Coachella Stage in Indio, California, during Weekend 1 of the festival’s April 10 to 12 run. Coachella’s official site lists 2026 dates of April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19, with Karol G booked for Sunday. (coachella.com) Before the show, Time Out reported Karol G was scheduled for a 9:55 p.m. start on April 12 and noted that she had previously played Coachella in 2022. The same guide listed Young Thug before her on the main stage and BigBang elsewhere on Sunday’s bill. (timeout.com) By early Monday, reports from the set said she started around 10:30 p.m. and brought out Becky G, Mariah Angeliq, Wisin and Greg Gonzalez during an hourlong performance. The Hollywood Reporter said she told the crowd, “I am Carolina Giraldo from Medellin, Colombia,” before calling herself the first Latina woman to headline the festival. (hollywoodreporter.com) The booking extends a recent shift at Coachella’s top line. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Bad Bunny became the festival’s first Spanish-language headliner in 2023, and Time Out described Karol G’s 2026 slot as another marker of Latin music’s rise on Coachella’s main stage. (hollywoodreporter.com, timeout.com) Sunday’s lineup was built around international pop, rap, dance and rock acts. Coachella’s official lineup includes FKA twigs, Foster the People, Iggy Pop, Fatboy Slim, Young Thug and BIGBANG on the festival’s 2026 poster, and live coverage from the Los Angeles Times followed Day 3 as Karol G closed the night. (coachella.com, latimes.com) The set also arrived after two other headline nights that drew attention for very different reasons. Yahoo’s live coverage framed Sunday as the cap to a weekend that had already featured Sabrina Carpenter on Friday and Justin Bieber on Saturday. (yahoo.com) Weekend 2 runs April 17 to 19, and Coachella’s official livestream page says performances will stream again on YouTube across seven stages. Karol G is scheduled to return to the main stage next Sunday, April 19. (coachella.com, timeout.com)
