Trust Stamp to Provide DMV Data Verification Service
AI-powered identity solutions provider Trust Stamp has contracted with IDetect to supply it with access to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) data verification service. The deal will allow IDetect to use the service for high-volume identity verification and security scanning.
- The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) service provides real-time verification by checking if the data on a driver's license matches what is in the issuing agency's database. This adds a layer of security beyond just checking the physical card's security features. - IDetect, the company receiving the service, has provided ID scanning and security solutions for over 25 years to more than 70 industries, with clients including Marriott, Harrah's Casinos, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). - Insurance regulators and state DMVs already have established electronic systems for data exchange, primarily to verify that registered vehicles have active insurance coverage. - Trust Stamp has previously integrated AAMVA's verification service into its own low-code platform for banking clients and is now offering it as a stand-alone product. - Beyond document verification, Trust Stamp is active in international markets, including strategic discussions with Nigeria's National Information Technology Development Agency to integrate privacy-first biometric tokenization technology into the nation's digital economy. - The identity verification industry is increasingly using AI and machine learning to counter fraud by detecting tampered documents, analyzing for inconsistencies, and using "liveness detection" to prevent spoofing attacks from deepfakes or photos. - Trust Stamp also has a partnership with Botdoc to bring this AAMVA-backed identity verification to the automotive industry, aiming to reduce fraud in car dealerships.
