NHL Stars Light Up Scoreboard

Buffalo's UPL delivered a stellar performance in a win via turnover, while Tage Thompson led the Caps' turnaround effort. Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov combined for 6 points in a Lightning rout, and Wyatt Johnston scored 2 goals for the Stars in recent NHL action.

In the Tampa Bay Lightning's 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brayden Point made an immediate impact in his return from an 11-game absence, scoring two goals and adding an assist. The win marked the Lightning's sixth consecutive victory and an impressive 20-1-1 record in their last 22 games. Nikita Kucherov's three-point night included his 30th goal of the season and his 700th career assist. He is the second-fastest player born outside North America to reach that assist milestone, achieving it in 855 games. His nine seasons with 30 or more goals now tie him with Steven Stamkos for the most in franchise history. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stood tall in the Buffalo Sabres' 2-1 win against the New Jersey Devils, stopping 27 shots. A late goal from Timo Meier with the goalie pulled was the only blemish on his night. The win continued a hot streak for Luukkonen, who has just one regulation loss in his last eight appearances. Tage Thompson factored in on both Sabres goals in that game, scoring one and assisting on the other. This performance extended his personal point streak to five games. Over his last 10 games, Thompson has been a key offensive driver, racking up 11 points. Wyatt Johnston's two goals for the Dallas Stars came in a 4-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken. Earlier this season, the 22-year-old became the third-youngest player in the history of the Stars/Minnesota North Stars franchise to score 100 career goals.
