Tom Morello Joins Springsteen Tour

Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave will join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for every show on their upcoming tour. The collaboration promises to blend Springsteen's storytelling with Morello's politically charged guitar work.

- This collaboration is not new; Morello previously toured with the E Street Band, notably during the 2014 "High Hopes Tour" and in 2013 when he filled in for guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who was busy filming the TV series "Lilyhammer". - Morello was a key contributor to Springsteen's 2014 album, "High Hopes," playing on eight of the album's tracks. Springsteen referred to Morello as his "muse" for the project, stating he pushed it to another level. - The duo's connection often revolves around the song "The Ghost of Tom Joad." Rage Against the Machine first covered the Springsteen track in 1997, and Morello first performed it live with the E Street Band in 2008. On the "High Hopes" album, Morello shares lead vocals with Springsteen on a re-recorded version of the song. - The upcoming twenty-date tour is named the "Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour" and is scheduled to run from March to May 2026. - In addition to "High Hopes," Morello also appeared on two songs on Springsteen's 2012 album "Wrecking Ball". Springsteen later guested on Morello's 2021 solo album, "The Atlas Underground Fire". - The tour announcement came shortly after Springsteen made a surprise appearance at Morello's "Defend Minnesota" charity concert, where they performed together. Morello has stated their joint goal is to highlight "current threats to democracy and human rights." - To accommodate the tour, Morello has postponed several dates of his own planned solo tour.
