Beaches Resorts Expands in Turks and Caicos

Beaches Resorts has opened a new oceanfront village, Treasure Beach, at its Turks and Caicos property. The expansion adds 101 multi-bedroom suites and new dining concepts, broadening the resort's offerings for family and group travel.

The new Treasure Beach village represents a $150 million investment, boosting the resort's total room count to 858 across six distinct villages. This expansion is part of a nearly US $1 billion investment by parent company Sandals Resorts International to double the Beaches brand's footprint over the next five years. Among the seven new dining options is the first-ever Butch's Island Steakhouse at a Beaches property, a concept popular at the company's Sandals resorts. The expansion also introduces The Pinta Food Hall, a new concept for the brand with diverse stations including Italian, Mexican, and Asian cuisine. Accommodations in Treasure Beach are tailored for larger groups, with some four-bedroom villas capable of hosting up to 10 guests. The top-tier Treasure Beach Chairman's Penthouse Suite is a two-story, three-bedroom unit, while the CrystalSky Reserve Villas feature private pools and rooftop decks. New family-focused amenities include a 32-seat movie theater called the Starfish Cinema, a 15,000-square-foot infinity-edge lagoon pool with three new water slides, and private cabanas. The original Beaches Turks & Caicos resort opened in 1997 and was a pivotal development for the island's tourism sector. The Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Charles Washington Misick, has acknowledged the significant positive impact the resort has had on the nation's GDP since its opening. This expansion in Turks and Caicos is part of a broader strategy for the Beaches brand, with new resorts also planned for Barbados, Jamaica, and the Bahamas, where a Sandals property in Exuma will be converted.
