Fremont to Host FOG Holi Festival

The FOG Holi 2026 festival is scheduled for March 7th at Washington High School in Fremont. The annual Festival of Colors is a popular local celebration open to all ages.

The Federation of Indo-Americans of Northern California (FOG) has been organizing the festival for years, with past events drawing crowds of over 7,000 people to celebrate. The organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has been a staple in the Bay Area's Indian-American community since 1983 and is composed of over 40 member organizations. Under the leadership of founder Dr. Romesh Japra, a cardiologist, FOG has expanded its activities beyond cultural celebrations to include charitable work. The organization runs free health fairs, legal clinics, and programs for seniors, in addition to youth leadership development and support for victims of domestic violence. The FOG Holi festival is part of a larger calendar of events that includes the FOG India Day Parade, which has been a Fremont tradition for over 30 years and has attracted over 150,000 attendees in the past. These events showcase the cultural and economic vitality of Fremont's large Indian-American community, which makes up a significant portion of the city's population. The scale of FOG events has attracted a diverse range of sponsors over the years. Past sponsors have included national brands such as Air India and NBC Bay Area, as well as local businesses and community-focused organizations. This highlights the commercial and networking opportunities surrounding large-scale cultural gatherings.
