Norqain Adventure Gets 40mm Update
The Norqain Adventure sports watch launched with a new 40mm case and range of dial options, targeting active lifestyle enthusiasts and athletes seeking durability without sacrificing aesthetics. The "all-terrain" watch is positioned for runners, hikers, and travelers with improvements in ergonomics and style. March's "This Week in Running" also spotlighted the release alongside regional trail marathon and ultramarathon results.
Norqain is a family-owned and fully independent Swiss watch brand that launched in 2018. Founder Ben Küffer established the company in Nidau (Biel/Bienne), the heart of Swiss watchmaking, positioning it as a rarity in an industry dominated by large luxury conglomerates. The brand's leadership has deep roots in the watch world. Ben Küffer's father, Marc Küffer, was on the board of the Swiss Watch Industry Association, and co-founders include Ted Schneider and former NHL star Mark Streit. This industry experience allowed the young brand to quickly establish itself and sell 4,000 watches in its first year. The Adventure collection is one of Norqain's three core pillars, alongside the vintage-inspired Freedom line and the modern, often skeletonized Independence series. The Adventure line is designed to be the brand's most robust and practical tool watch, suitable for a "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" (GADA) lifestyle. A key development for Norqain was its 2020 partnership with movement manufacturer Kenissi, which also supplies Tudor and Chanel. This collaboration gives Norqain access to exclusive "manufacture" calibres, such as the NN20/1 with its 70-hour power reserve, a significant feature for an independent brand at its price point. The new 40mm Adventure model replaces the previous 42mm version and introduces several design updates. These include a new embossed mountain pattern on the dial, crown guards for added protection, and a unidirectional bezel with an aluminum insert. The watch is powered by the COSC-certified Calibre N08, based on a Sellita SW200-1 movement. Within the Adventure collection is the "Neverest" sub-series. A portion of the sales from these watches supports the Butterfly Help Project, a non-profit that helps families of sherpas who have lost their lives in the Himalayas and provides their children with access to education. A signature feature across all Norqain watches, including the new Adventure 40mm, is the customizable plate on the left side of the case. This plate can be engraved with a personal message, reinforcing the brand's focus on celebrating the owner's life and accomplishments.
