Boxing KO Highlights from Weekend

Multiple quick knockouts dominated weekend boxing: Lorenzo Parra KO'd Elijah Pierce, Curmel Moton TKO'd Wilfredo Flores, and Brandon Jean Jean-Louis scored a record-breaking instant KO over Dalvinson Tejeda in Santo Domingo. The weekend also featured Navarrete beating Nunez for unified titles.

In a significant featherweight upset, Venezuelan underdog Lorenzo Parra captured the WBO International title from Elijah Pierce with a second-round standing knockout. The fight, which headlined a Manny Pacquiao Promotions card in Verona, NY, was stopped at 1:44 of the round after Parra, fighting just days after his father's death, trapped Pierce on the ropes. The loss snapped a 12-fight winning streak for Pierce, who had been ranked No. 2 by both the WBA and WBO. On the same Verona card, 19-year-old Mayweather protégé Curmel Moton improved his record to 9-0 with a technical knockout of Wilfredo Flores. After absorbing significant punishment, particularly from body shots, Flores's corner stopped the fight after the second round. This was only the second stoppage loss in the 36-year-old Flores's career. The record for the fastest knockout in boxing history may have been broken in Santo Domingo by Brandon Jean Jean-Louis. He floored Dalvinson Tejeda with a single left hook just as the opening bell sounded, with the unofficial time of the knockout being under two seconds. In a junior lightweight unification bout in Glendale, Arizona, Emanuel Navarrete added the IBF title to his WBO belt with a technical knockout of Eduardo Nunez. The fight was stopped by the ringside doctor before the 11th round due to severe swelling that had completely shut Nunez's right eye. Navarrete dominated the all-Mexican clash, outlanding Nunez 236 to 140 in total punches.
