NVIDIA GTC 2026 Kicks Off
NVIDIA's GTC 2026 conference began with announcements expected on new chips, AI platforms, and strategic partnerships.
NVIDIA's GTC 2026 is being called the "Super Bowl of AI," with announcements expected to move markets and shape the industry's direction for the coming year. CEO Jensen Huang is expected to unveil core technical parameters of next-generation GPUs like Rubin and Feynman. The conference is also set to showcase breakthroughs in computing infrastructure, including CPO switches, new power architectures, and high-efficiency liquid cooling. A major focus will be on "agentic AI" systems, with analysts anticipating a shift from simple chatbots to fully autonomous AI agents. Huang has teased a "world-surprising" chip expected to facilitate this transition. This includes potential unveiling of the "N1X" AI PC Superchip, a joint venture with MediaTek, and breakthroughs in Silicon Photonics to address data center power limitations. NVIDIA is also reportedly planning to launch an open-source enterprise AI agent platform called NemoClaw. This platform aims to provide a software standard for the agentic AI era, encompassing tasks like email processing, scheduling, and workflow orchestration. NemoClaw builds upon NVIDIA's existing NeMo framework and NIM microservice layer. Rumors suggest NVIDIA might unveil an x86 CPU developed in collaboration with Intel. While details are scarce, this would mark a significant shift, as NVIDIA has historically focused on GPUs and Arm-based processors. However, some suggest that a full launch is unlikely, with a roadmap or architecture reveal being more probable. The conference, running from March 16-19 in San Jose, is expected to draw over 30,000 attendees from 190 countries. GTC 2026 will feature over 700 sessions covering topics from physical AI and AI factories to agentic AI and inference. The event will also offer hands-on training labs and workshops across the AI stack.
