TCL to Supply Displays for 2026 Winter Olympics
TCL CSOT, a subsidiary of TCL Technology, showcased the display technology it will be providing for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The company presented its new generation of display solutions at exhibitions and fan zones in Milan.
This partnership extends far beyond brand visibility; TCL is a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner through 2032, replacing Panasonic in the home audiovisual and appliances category. This long-term deal covers four Olympic cycles, including Milano Cortina 2026, Los Angeles 2028, the French Alps 2030, and Brisbane 2032. TCL's role is deeply embedded in the event's infrastructure, supplying advanced display technology to the International Broadcast Centre (IBC). This hub, operated by Olympic Broadcasting Services, is crucial for delivering global media coverage, utilizing TCL's screens for media organizations to transmit the Games with high clarity. For athletes, the impact is personal. TCL provides display technology for the "Athlete Moment," enabling competitors to connect with friends and family back home immediately after their events. Additionally, TCL is outfitting Olympic Villages in Anterselva and Livigno with smart home appliances like washing machines and dryers to enhance athlete comfort. The fan experience is being redefined through immersive technologies. At a 500-square-meter showcase in Milan, TCL is featuring its next-generation displays and augmented reality innovations. This includes a Mixed Reality Display with dual 4K+ clarity and a 105° field of view, allowing fans to interactively explore Olympic venues. From a data and analytics perspective, the deployment of high-resolution displays in venues is key for delivering real-time player statistics and replays, enhancing the in-person viewing experience. This integration of data visualization directly into the fan experience represents a growing trend in sports, turning screens into platforms for deeper engagement. This partnership also aligns with the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Olympic AI Agenda. TCL will play a role in supporting fan and athlete experiences both on-site and at home through artificial intelligence, showcasing how tech partners are becoming more integral to the operational and strategic goals of major sporting events.
