Chase Sapphire Reserve Adds 'Exclusive Tables' Perk

Chase is enhancing its Sapphire Reserve card with an 'Exclusive Tables' program, offering members priority reservations at sought-after restaurants. The program also includes access to Visa Concierge services, providing another tool for securing access to high-demand dining experiences.

This program is built on Chase's 2021 acquisition of restaurant discovery platform The Infatuation, which now curates the list of participating restaurants. The partnership leverages OpenTable's booking technology and the broader Visa Dining Collection to create a unified experience for cardholders. The move directly challenges the American Express Global Dining Collection, which has become a dominant force after Amex acquired both Resy in 2019 and Tock in 2024. American Express is now merging Resy and Tock into a single platform under the Resy brand, creating a reservation powerhouse with over 25,000 venues to compete against OpenTable. For Sapphire Reserve cardholders, the "Exclusive Tables" benefit is tied to a significant financial perk: a $300 annual dining credit. This credit is split into two $150 increments, one for January through June and another for July through December, and applies automatically as a statement credit when dining at the selected restaurants. Unlike some card benefits, the statement credit does not require the reservation to be made through the OpenTable platform. Simply paying with a Sapphire Reserve card at any of the designated restaurants is enough to trigger the biannual $150 credit. The underlying reservation technology through the Visa Infinite program holds prime-time tables that would otherwise show as unavailable, releasing them only to eligible cardmembers. This creates a separate, more accessible inventory for securing tables during peak hours. Initially launched in major markets, the program recently expanded to include more than 25 U.S. cities. The list of participating restaurants is dynamic, with new locations being added over time.
