Huawei Launches Global Hybrid Cloud Platform

At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei Cloud officially launched its new hybrid cloud solution globally. The platform is designed to provide enterprises with a more open and resilient system for managing workloads across both private and public cloud environments.

This new platform, named Huawei Cloud Foundation (HCF), was introduced by Antonony Gu, President of Huawei Hybrid Cloud, during the "Huawei Cloud: Solving Industry Challenges with AI" summit at MWC Barcelona 2026. The launch represents a significant step in Huawei's "Hybrid Cloud + AI" strategy, aiming to help enterprises navigate the complexities of digital and intelligent transformation. At its core, HCF is built on what Huawei describes as an innovative, architecture-level decoupling design. This approach is intended to provide a more open ecosystem, allowing for greater flexibility and integration with a variety of hardware and software. The platform includes a unified certification framework and standardized integration specifications to streamline compatibility. A key focus of the new platform is its AI-native capabilities. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the computing landscape, HCF is designed to provide a robust foundation for AI-powered applications. This aligns with Huawei's broader strategy of integrating its Pangu large models across its cloud offerings to support industry-specific AI solutions. The platform also emphasizes resilience and simplified operations and maintenance (O&M). HCF aims to help businesses manage increasingly complex IT environments by providing a more streamlined and agile operational experience. This is crucial for enterprises that need to maintain security and compliance for their on-premises assets while leveraging the scalability of the public cloud. Huawei's existing hybrid cloud solution, Huawei Cloud Stack, has already seen significant adoption, serving over 5,500 customers in more than 150 countries, including in key sectors like government and finance. The launch of HCF is a clear move to build on this momentum and address the evolving demands of the AI era. The hybrid cloud market is experiencing substantial growth as organizations seek to balance the security of private infrastructure with the flexibility of the public cloud. Huawei's investment in an open and AI-centric platform with HCF positions it to compete in this expanding market. This launch is part of a series of AI-focused announcements from Huawei at MWC 2026, which also included new solutions for intelligent computing O&M and AI-native frameworks for various industries. Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Global Marketing and Sales Service, has previously emphasized the company's commitment to a "By Local, For Local" strategy, which involves building strong local ecosystems and providing tailored solutions for different markets. The global launch of HCF is expected to align with this approach by offering a platform that can be adapted to meet specific regional and industry needs.
