Guy Ritchie Heist Film Cast
Guy Ritchie is teaming up with Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill for the heist film "In the Grey." The combination of Ritchie's distinct style and the star power is already generating anticipation for this character-driven action project.
The film reunites Ritchie with actors he's recently directed. Henry Cavill and Eiza González both starred in 2024's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," while Jake Gyllenhaal led Ritchie's 2023 war thriller "The Covenant." The cast also includes Rosamund Pike, Fisher Stevens, and Jason Wong. "In the Grey" follows a covert team of elite operatives tasked with retrieving a stolen billion-dollar fortune from a ruthless despot. The mission, described as a suicide mission for anyone else, escalates into a battle of strategy and deception. The plot also involves two extraction specialists who must plan an escape for a female negotiator. Production on the film began in September 2023 in the Canary Islands, Spain, and wrapped in late October of the same year. The project was granted an interim agreement that allowed filming to proceed during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. The film's release has seen a few shifts. Originally slated for a January 2025 release by Lionsgate, it was pulled from the schedule due to post-production delays. Black Bear Pictures, one of the production companies, is now handling distribution, with a theatrical release set for May 15, 2026. This project adds to a busy slate for the prolific director. Ritchie recently debuted the "Young Sherlock" series on Prime Video and has another film, "Wife and Dog," expected later in the year. He is also known for his work on television series like "The Gentlemen" and "MobLand." This film marks another entry in Ritchie's signature genre of stylish, action-packed crime stories. His filmography includes iconic British gangster films like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch," as well as more recent action-thrillers like "Wrath of Man" and "The Gentlemen."
