Bayley returns on RAW Sept. 8

Bayley returned to WWE television on the Sept. 7 edition of Raw, re-entering the women’s storyline by costing Lyra Valkyria a Money in the Bank qualifying match, according to Fightful. Sol Ruca won the triple-threat qualifier after the distraction, which came during a match also involving Maxxine Dupri. Social media clips posted on Sept. 8 showed Bayley’s entrance and the crowd reaction from the arena. WWE’s Raw preview for the show had billed the Valkyria-Ruca-Dupri qualifier in advance. ### Where exactly did Bayley show up on Raw? Fightful reported that Bayley appeared during the women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match and distracted Valkyria, allowing Ruca to hit the Sol Snatcher for the win. The outlet said Bayley then stayed involved after the bell and continued attacking Valkyria. WWE’s homepage preview for the Sept. 7 Raw listed “Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria and Maxxine Dupri clash in Triple Threat Money in the Bank Qualifying Match,” placing Bayley’s return inside a match WWE had already promoted. (fightful.com) ### Who did Bayley target, and why does that matter to the storyline? Lyra Valkyria was the target of Bayley’s return angle on Monday, according to Fightful’s match account. (fightful.com) That linked Bayley back to a wrestler who had already been involved in one of her recent televised storylines. On Aug. 24, WWE said Valkyria had neutralized Kairi Sane during a gauntlet match, allowing Bayley to defeat Asuka and become the No. 1 contender to Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee. (wwe.com) That earlier result gives context to why Bayley and Valkyria were already connected before Monday’s attack. (fightful.com) ### Was this a full in-ring return or a surprise appearance? Bayley’s Sept. 7 appearance was presented as a surprise television return rather than a completed in-ring comeback match. Fightful described the segment as Bayley returning on Raw, interfering in the qualifier and attacking Valkyria afterward. No official WWE results page detailing the full segment was visible in the material reviewed, but WWE’s site showed the Raw episode was carried live and promoted as fallout from Sunday Night’s Main Event. (wwe.com) Clips circulating on X on Sept. 8 focused on Bayley’s entrance and the immediate arena response. ### How long had Bayley been gone? NoDQ reported that Bayley had been absent from WWE television for nearly two months before returning on the Sept. 7 Raw. (fightful.com) That report matched the framing from other wrestling outlets that treated Monday’s segment as her first appearance back on the show. Athlon and WrestlingInc had also reported ahead of the episode that Bayley was expected back on Raw, citing backstage reporting and industry speculation before the broadcast. (wwe.com) ### What comes next after the return? WWE has advertised the next Raw for Sept. 14 in Mexico City, where Roman Reigns is scheduled to face Penta, according to the company’s site. (nodq.com) Bayley’s next storyline step was not detailed in the material reviewed, but her attack on Valkyria leaves that program active heading into the next episode. (wwe.com) (athlonsports.com)
