Assassin's Creed Shadows Support Ending
Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows has entered the "final phase" of its post-launch support cycle, signaling that major updates, bug fixes, and new content drops are winding down. Players are encouraged to complete content and achievements while active support continues.
*Assassin's Creed Shadows*, which launched on March 20, 2025, is concluding its major post-launch support approximately a year after its release. This follows a support model that included significant free updates and a paid expansion. Throughout its year of active support, the game received numerous updates, including the major "Claws of Awaji" expansion which added a new 10-hour story campaign on Awaji Island. Players also received free content such as New Game+, new quests, improved parkour mechanics, and crossover events with properties like *Dead by Daylight* and *Balatro*. The decision to wind down support for *Shadows* is part of a broader strategy by Ubisoft to shift development resources to the future of the franchise. Though updates will become smaller and less frequent, Ubisoft has hinted that a "few surprises" still remain for players. Ubisoft has several new Assassin's Creed projects in the pipeline. The next major mainline entry is currently known as *Codename Hexe*, described as a "unique, darker, narrative-driven" experience developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Alongside *Hexe*, the company is developing a multiplayer-focused title called *Codename Invictus*, a mobile game titled *Assassin's Creed Jade*, and a remake of the popular 2013 title *Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag*, now titled *Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced*. The company has also confirmed it is looking into bringing co-op back to the series.
