Reds' Greene to Miss Time
Reds ace Hunter Greene will undergo elbow surgery and is out until July.
Greene will have bone chips removed from his right elbow. The expectation is that he will return to the rotation after the All-Star break. This is a blow to the Reds' rotation, as Greene has Cy Young potential. He had a 3.60 ERA in two starts this season. The Reds will need other starters, such as Nick Lodolo and Andrew Abbott, to step up in Greene's absence. They may also look to free agency or trades to add pitching depth.
